Staying Safe with Summer Travel in Surrey

Summer is finally upon us! Why not expand your horizons after more than a year spent close to home. Whether you indulge in a staycation in Surrey City Centre or you are using it as a base to explore Metro Vancouver, your stay with us will be as safe as it is enjoyable. Our health and safety protocols are focused on ensuring all of our guests are comfortable, as per the latest official guidelines. So go ahead and sit back with a drink beside the best hotel pool in Surrey, or welcome friends and family to a special celebration in one of our fabulous event spaces, confident that we’re doing everything needed to keep you and your loved ones safe. Here are some of the updated measures in place for the summer.

Public Hotel Spaces

In Civic Hotel’s indoor public spaces, guests who are fully vaccinated do not need to wear a mask, we do ask that those who are not yet fully vaccinated continue to follow the Provincial Health Officer’s recommendations and wear a mask indoors. We will continue with heightened cleaning and sanitizing process, including using Marriott-approved, hospital-grade disinfectant cleaners with special attention given to high-touch surfaces.  Hand sanitizer stations and barriers at the front desk have been kept along with capacity limits in our elevators, and guests are asked to continue physical distancing. Our valet service is still on hold but appointments are no longer required for our hotel’s fitness centre and outdoor lap pool, although we do encourage physical distancing. Dominion Bar + Kitchen and Prado Cafe have extended their hours and food and beverage services.

Hotel Guest Rooms

Inside your room, touchless technologies keep food orders safe. Enjoy our delicious express breakfast while in-room food delivery will continue in single-use packaging. Small pleasures like pens, notepads, glassware, ice buckets and decorative pillows have been returned to guest rooms. Ice machines are once again available. When it comes to housekeeping, you’ll always find a full packet of surface disinfecting wipes when you arrive, and housekeeping during your stay will be provided upon request. Marriott Bonvoy™ members can also enjoy mobile check-in, express check out and other digital services.

Celebrate Together Again 

It’s finally time to hold that special event you’ve dreamt of. Capacity has been expanded to either fifty people or fifty percent of total event room capacity (whichever is greater). At your long-awaited event, your cherished friends and family members will have and need to stay in a designated seat. Dancing is, unfortunately, still not permitted. However, self-service food displays can be requested as long as individual portions are covered, wrapped, or sanitized after each serving. Signage will continue to recommend physical distancing and hand-sanitizing stations are available upon request.

And should you need any further encouragement to pack your suitcase, Civic Hotel’s Summer Staycation package is just the ticket! It includes a night in one of our gorgeous rooms, breakfast for two, complimentary parking and a day spent lying around our stunning outdoor lap pool and whirlpool hot tub before checkout at 6 pm.
