Things to do in & near Surrey08 / 18 / 2020
There are so many local places to explore – you don’t need to travel to find fun things to do in Surrey! As summer is winding down, we have outlined some of our favourite destinations and activities that are in person and online.
Embrace the outdoors and less populated spaces. Some of our favourite outdoor areas are Holland Park, Bear Creek Park, Redwood Park, and Crescent Beach. Enjoy the sun while walking along local trails. Want to cool off with the family? Check out the outdoor water parks at Bear Creek Park and the Fleetwood Water Playground.
There are lots of different local businesses to check out. Our favourite? Dominion Bar + Kitchen, located in our hotel lobby! They have a pop-up patio right in Civic Plaza and new menu items. Other local favourites are Central City Brewers + Distillers, Prado Cafe, Tasty Indian Bistro, Nam Thai Bistro, Vault Restaurant, The Cabin Restaurant, Afghan Kitchen, My Shanti, and Peaceful Restaurant.
Online & Virtual Events
This year’s Surrey Fusion Festival is a virtual livestream from September 25 – October 25, 2020, at various times. It will feature cultural performances, musical entertainment, art lessons, cultural history, Indigenous education, dance lessons, cooking segments, kids’ cultural activities, and “how-to” cooking, dance, arts and craft activities.
