The Long Long Table: Surrey’s Community Social

On Tuesday, June 26, the 4th annual Long, Long Table event will be coming to Surrey City Centre. Civic Hotel’s Executive Hospitality Chef, Rajeev Arora, and his team, will cater a delicious five-course meal for members of the Surrey community. The event has one of the longest tables you will ever see — spanning from Surrey City Hall all the way to the other end of Civic Plaza.

The Long, Long Table is a unique event that invites people of all ages who live, work, volunteer, and study in Surrey to sit at the same dinner table and share a five-course meal together. Here, citizens who would not normally interact with one another find themselves sharing experiences and getting to know one another, making it a “friend-raiser” rather than a fundraiser.

With the success of last year’s event, the Downtown Surrey Business Association (DSBIA)  will be hosting the annual Long Long Table: A Surrey’s Community Social presented by Civic Hotel at Surrey City Hall Civic Plaza (13450 – 104 Avenue). Networking will begin at 5:00 PM and dinner will start at 6:00 PM. Guests will sit at the elegantly decorated longlong table and be served a delicious five-course meal that will reflect A Cosmopolitan Experience.

At the start of the meal, guests will be greeted by a delicious assortment of appetizers. From port gelée to baked beet salad with birds eye chilli dressing, there will be a variety of flavours to suit tastes. The main course will be a Cuban marinated flank steak paired with sage sweet potato whip and chimichurri. To finish, Civic Hotel’s catering team will serve a Cointreau crème brûlée for dessert.

As a community social, the DSBIA strives to make the event accessible for everyone. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome! To keep the dinner affordable, the event  has some great community-minded sponsors who have stepped forward. A big thank you to Civic Hotel, VanCity Credit Union, KPU, SFU, SCDC, PWC, David Pel & Company, Eurocan and TD Canada Trust.
